Mark
Spearman is the current Director of Tennis for LNRC/TCMB. He
has been at the helm for 18 years….He is the current Varsity Girls
coach at Dana Hills High School, which won the CIF div 1
championship in 2007. He is on Head and Adidas Advisory staffs and
coaches all levels of adults and children, which include sectional
and national ranked juniors. He is married to his wife Dorene,
an active member of the tennis leagues and has three children - Cameron, Katie and Cassidy…all who are tennis players. Before LNRC,
Mark was an All-American at Cal Lutheran University and briefly
played the ATP tour with his ranking getting to 650 in the world.

Greg Johnson - Assistant Director of Tennis

Greg Johnson is the Head Pro and
Director of Junior Tennis. A USPTA Pro 1, former #1 collegiate
player and college head coach, Greg trains juniors of all ages and
levels, from the beginner to the aspiring professional. Greg has
been teaching for the past 15 years. He currently coaches sectional
and national ranked juniors and has developed many who have gone on
to play at the collegiate level. For more information on the

Greg offers Adult Lessons via group, semi-private and private
instruction. He is married to Randi, and has three daughters, Raya,

Tennis Professional at The Tennis
Club at Monarch Beach and Laguna Niguel Racquet Club since 1990,
Steve's professional affiliations include USPTA Pro 1, Wilson
Advisory staff for 16 years, Sports Science certified and Specialist
Competitive Player Development USTA/USPTA.
He is a graduate of the University of Oregon and holds
a masters degree from CSULB. Steve received the South Orange
County USPTA Pro of the Year award in 2008.

was ranked in the top 10 every year in Southern California Junior
and Men's Open. Ranked #1 in the NAIA District lll. Played
the European Satellite (Futures) circuit. Barry has been
teaching full time since 1983 and has been at the Laguna Niguel
Racquet Club since 1986.

Hector Chairez-

Hector
has been an Ass’t Pro at LNRC for 6 years…starting as a Junior Ass’t
Pro and a counselor at the summer tennis camp. Hector is now the
Ass’t Director of the Summer Camp and teaches full-time private and
group lessons. He comes to us after playing in high school and
college for Saddleback and
Chapman University. He is currently on the Prince Staff and a member
of the PTR.

Jennifer Lyons-

Jennifer is ranked #1 in Southern
California in women's 40 singles and 40 mixed doubles with husband
John. For her tennis accomplishments she was elected honorary
chairperson at the 2007 Queen of Hearts Tennis Tournament In 1998
Jennifer was selected USPTA Pro of the year. She attended
college at Long Beach State University where she played #1 in
singles and doubles. Jennifer has been teaching tennis at
Laguna Niguel and Monarch Beach for the past 12 years.

Since 1986, Rob has coached in Orange County, Las
Vegas, Arizona and Germany; & has a USPTA 1 rating. Rob was an All
American at UC Santa Cruz, played professionally in Europe, and
continues to compete at the national level. He was ranked #4 in the
Southern California Men's 40 in 2007 and is part of the USTA High
Performance Coaching Program. He is married to his wife Stacey Tan-Horsch,
who is a personal trainer at Laguna Niguel Racquet Club. His step-daughter Christina Tan 19, is a sophomore at Syracuse University and
she was captain of the women's tennis team as a freshman while
playing # 1 singles. His step-son, Michael Tan 17, is a senior at
Dana Hills and played on the CIF winning tennis team of 2006.
Rob is a Prince Elite team member and offers group, semi-private and
private instruction to adults and juniors.

Tim is a
graduate of Cal-Poly with a B.S. in Construction Management. At
Cal-Poly, Tim was a 1990 NCAA Div II Champion and a 5 time All
American in Singles and Doubles. In high school Tim was a two time
CIF 4A Champion at Miraleste. In Rancho Pales Verdes, as a USPTA
teaching professional, Tim has coached Men's and Women's USTA
tennis, high performance juniors, and beginners. His wife Lael
is an active member of the tennis leagues and the Head Coach for
Laguna Beach Volleyball Club. They have 3 daughters,
Ayla, Drae, and Stila, who are all tennis players.

Mike has a background in psychology from San Diego State University.
He has a variety of outside interests, as well as experience in
multiple sports. However, Mike has focused his energies teaching
tennis lessons for The Laguna Niguel Racquet Club for the past four
years. In addition to private lessons, Mike assists the clubs' head
pro, Greg Johnson, with his Elite junior tennis program and during
the summer, he assists the Director of Tennis, Mark Spearman, and
Tennis Pro, Hector Chairez with the summer tennis camps for kids.
Mike is a highly motivated individual and
provides an
extensive scope of knowledge of the game of tennis, while providing
fun instruction. |

Andrew Mateljan -

Andrew Mateljan, as a
player clinched
Redlands High School’s only CIF championship
as a freshmen in 2004. He was ranked consistently in the top
5 in every age division and top 20 nationally in
Southern California Juniors. He competed in
the USTA’s Maze Cup and Intersectionals representing
Southern California and has traveled all over the US
and
South America
to compete in the Futures Circuit. Andrew has been coaching
for 4 years now and has coached a couple girls to play at
the collegiate level; he currently works with players who
are sectional and nationally ranked juniors including girls
on the Dana Hills high school team. Andrew is a highly
motivated individual, very knowledge about the game of
tennis and brings lots of energy. He is available for
private and group lessons to adults and juniors.
