Jason Strother
Head Tennis Professional
(949) 861-0889 (cell)
jsbeanpole@msn.com
Jason has been at the Racquet Club of Irvine for the past 25
years and has been the Head of Tennis Professional for 23
years. He is also a USPTA certified professional and a
member of the Head Advisory staff. Prior to coming to the
Racquet Club of Irvine he played for UC Riverside where he
was nationally ranked in singles and doubles for 3 years.
Jason has worked with some of the top internationally ranked
wheelchair tennis players. Over the years, he has also
worked with new players of all ages, 3 ˝ to 85, on basic
stroke and footwork fundamentals. He keeps his lessons fun,
informative, and teaches the concept of “keep it simple”.
Jason sees that many players make the game much more complex
and harder than it needs to be. With more competitive
players, he excels in doubles strategy; as well as advanced
footwork and stroke technique. Jason teaches a classic
stroke with the goal of longevity in the sport for years to
come without exuberance and enthusiasm both on and off the
court. Jason teaches privates, semi-privates, and group
lessons. His students find their clinics very productive
because Jason keeps his clinics at a 4 to 1 student/ration.
Jason is married to RCI personal trainer Nicola Strother,
who is also a Pat Etcheberry Certified speed, quickness, and
agility coach.

I love tennis. Starting from the first time striking a
tennis ball until now, it feels great to hit the tennis
ball. This lead to a passion for all things tennis, from
teaching to tennis equipment, I enjoy it all. I played
number one at my high school and all 4 years at Christ
College of Irvine. For the past 25 years I have taught
tennis. I have had a USPTA P-1 for over 20 years, named
“pro of my region” in 2011. I am have had a keen interest
in tennis equipment and have been involved in running tennis
pro shops for over 20 years. This experience helped me to
attain a job with Babolat as a territory rep in Southern
California. My availability is Friday nights and weekends
and I am interested in someone who wants to improve and have
a greater enjoyment of tennis.
