Laguna Niguel Racquet Club hosted its 4th Annual Men's USTA Professional Futures Tournament in the first week of October.  The players were vying for $15,000 in prize money and more importantly ATP points, which helps the players move up in the ATP rankings.  The top seed was ranked 350 in the world and; he was from Brazil.  Jimy Symanski from Venezuela was the winner, defeating Robert Yim from Glendale, CA.  Jimy earned $1500 for winning the tournament.  Mark Spearman was the tournament director, and he was very pleased with the strong local support for the tournament.  Over 200 spectators turned out for the finals, and they were treated to a fantastic day of tennis.  Laguna Niguel Racquet Club looks forward to next year's event, which will be in October of 2004.  Admission is free, so mark your calendar and join the fun.
